The Romeo 1 Pro’s 30mm wide objective lens provides a massive field view filling your vision and making it easier to spot the red dot. In addition, the Romeo 1 Pro comes with an extra steel shroud. This protective layer adds to the gun’s weight, but its installment is optional.

Specifications
Moving on to the specification, the critical difference between the two arises as the SIG SAUER Romeo 1 and Romeo 1 Pro do not share the same footprint.
The footprint was upgraded to the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro for Pro 1, making it compatible with M17, M18, P320- X Five Legion, P320 Pro series, and other shotguns that match the DPP design.
Romeo 1, on the other hand, is compatible only with a limited number of guns, including RX line pistols.
The Romeo 1 Pro comes equipped with the SIG’s new TruHold Lockless Zeroing System, another feature that the Romeo 1 lacks. This system utilizes adjustment springs that endure gun recoil and are used to return it to zero after every shot. The buttons are tactile and audible at each click.
The pro model uses the new point source emitter that provides exceptional brightness making its red dot clearer than Romeo 1. The brightness can be interchanged between 10 daytime and 2-night vision settings in the pro version.
Battery life
You can see another upgrade in the Romeo 1 Pro as a significant improvement regarding battery life. In comparison, the 20,000 hours battery of Romeo 1 pro exceeds Romeo 1’s battery by 4 to 5 times.
Like the Romeo 1, it is also equipped with MOTAC (motion-activated illumination system.) The device powers up when motion is detected and shuts off when left stationary, ensuring an optimum battery life.
Material
Romeo 1 pro utilizes aircraft-grade aluminum in place of Romeo 1’s aircraft-grade CNC Magnesium.
The previous model was a failure in terms of red dot stability. Even a regular bump would mess up the red dot and cause a massive problem while setting the target.
Substituting the magnesium with aluminum fixed this issue and made the red dot brighter and more precise.
Price and Value for Money
There is a considerable difference between the prices of both the SIG’s models. Romeo 1 costs close to $300 compared to the Romeo 1 Pro which costs about $450 on Amazon. In my humble opinion the upgrade to Romeo 1 Pro is definitely worth it, if you are not on a budgetary contraint. That being said, buying the run-of-the-mill Romeo 1 would not be a bad decision either.
Conclusion- Which One Should You Buy?
Romeo 1 Pro, as the name suggests, is the professional use version of the Romeo 1 sight reflex. Both the models, the Romeo 1 and the Romeo 1 Pro, are similar in appearance.
However, Romeo 1 Pro’s compatibility with professional guns, a more specific and accurate aim, durable aluminum body, a significantly longer-lasting battery, and a visibly brighter aim make it the better choice.
